1999年的今天，ev在他的blog里宣布了blogger.com的诞生。

We just launched a cool new tool at Pyra. It's called Blogger. It's an automated weblog publishing tool. Unlike Pitas, which, don't get me wrong, is cool, Blogger FTP's your updated weblog page to your own server after each post. This means you can have everything "under the same roof," as Jack put it the other day. You retain complete control. In fact, no one even has to know you're using Blogger. 时至今日，blogger.com已经七周年了：



有趣的是，七年前，blogger.com以FTP发布为荣，今天，它却在鼓励用户回流到Blog*Spot 。莫非，这就是轮回？

We won't be able to support all of those features for our FTP users. We do intend to continue to support FTP and also come up with ways to make it possible and desirable for those folks (which includes me) to come back to Blog*Spot.
